The Fifth is a members' club based in London, United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law, The Fifth is the "data controller" of the personal data described in this policy.

2. What data we collect

We collect personal data in a small number of places on this site:

• Membership applications — when you apply, we collect the details you provide in the application form (for example your name, email address, phone number, and any message or membership preference you include).
• Newsletter sign-up— when you sign up to "stay in the loop", we collect your email address so we can send you updates about The Fifth.
• High-performer tax calculator — the figures you enter into the calculator (spend and travel time) are stored anonymously for our own market research. We do not collect your name, email, or any other identifying information as part of this tool, and the results are not linked to any application or newsletter sign-up you may separately make.

3. How and why we use your data

We use the data described above to:

• process and respond to your membership application;
• send you the newsletter updates you've signed up to receive;
• understand, in aggregate, how visitors think about their existing spend on fitness, workspace and club memberships, so we can improve The Fifth's offering.

Our legal basis for this processing is:

• Consent— for sending you newsletter updates, which you can withdraw at any time (see "Your rights" below).
• Legitimate interests — for processing your membership application and getting in touch with you about it, and for the anonymised market research collected via the tax calculator.

4. Who we share your data with

We use third-party service providers to run this site and store the data described above, currently including Supabase (database hosting). These providers act as our data processors — they only process data on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

5. How long we keep your data

We keep membership application data for as long as reasonably necessary to process your application and, if you become a member, for the duration of your membership plus a reasonable period afterwards for our legal and accounting obligations. We keep newsletter sign-up data until you unsubscribe. Tax calculator submissions are anonymous and are kept for aggregate market research purposes.

6. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

• ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• ask us to correct any data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
• ask us to delete your data;
• ask us to restrict how we use your data;
• ask us to move your data to another organisation;
• object to us processing your data, including for direct marketing;
• withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent (for example, the newsletter — every email includes an unsubscribe link).

7. Cookies

This site does not currently use non-essential cookies or third-party analytics trackers. If that changes — for example if we add analytics in future — we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.

8. Children

The Fifth is a service intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page when we do.
